Terms of Use

Effective September 23, 2026

These terms apply to your use of DishBudget, which is operated by Adam Carrillo (“DishBudget,” “we,” “us”). By using the site, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use DishBudget.

What DishBudget is

DishBudget is a free recipe planner, and it may be supported by advertising. It estimates what a meal costs using product and price data from Kroger-family stores. It can build a shopping list and link you to products on your store's website. DishBudget doesn't sell groceries, take payments, or place orders. Everything you buy, you buy directly from the store, under the store's terms.

We're not affiliated with Kroger. DishBudget is an independent service. It is not owned, endorsed, or sponsored by The Kroger Co. or any of its store banners. Kroger, Fry's, Ralphs, King Soopers, Harris Teeter, and the other store names are trademarks of their owners. We use them only to identify the stores.

Prices are estimates

Prices, sale prices, stock, and product details come from Kroger's product data. They can be delayed, incomplete, or wrong. They can also differ from what you see in the store or at checkout. We match ingredients to products and calculate cost per serving and totals automatically, and those matches and calculations can be off. For example, we might pick a different size or variety than you would, or the price of a sold-by-weight item may change.

Treat every price on DishBudget as a planning estimate, not a quote. The price you pay is the one the store charges. We're not responsible for differences between our estimates and what you're charged.

Recipes, food safety, and allergies

Recipes are for general home cooking only. Nutrition, allergy, or dietary labels such as “meat-free” are general guides, not guarantees. Always check product labels for allergens and ingredients, because stores and manufacturers change products. You're responsible for handling, storing, and cooking food safely, and for deciding whether a recipe suits your health needs. DishBudget doesn't give medical or nutritional advice.

Your account

Some features require a free account, including most full recipes, picking a store, saving favorites, your pantry, and meal plans. You agree to give accurate information, keep your sign-in secure, and let us know if you think someone has accessed your account. You're responsible for activity on your account. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you're under 18, you need a parent's or guardian's permission.

Reviews and other content you post

You own the reviews and other content you post. By posting, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, and share that content on and in connection with DishBudget. For example, we may show your review on a recipe page or use it to calculate a recipe's average rating. This license ends when you delete the content, except where others have already shared it or we must keep it by law.

Please keep reviews honest and about the recipe. Don't post anything that:

  • is illegal, harassing, hateful, or sexually explicit
  • infringes someone else's rights, including copyright and privacy
  • is spam, advertising, or intentionally false or misleading
  • includes someone else's personal information

We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules. We don't check every post before it goes up, and reviews reflect the opinions of the people who write them, not ours.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • scrape, crawl, or bulk-download recipes, prices, or other data from DishBudget, or use automated means to access it
  • try to get around rate limits, sign-in requirements, or security measures
  • interfere with the site, overload it, or try to access other people's accounts or data
  • use DishBudget to build a competing product or resell its data
  • use the service in a way that breaks the law or the terms of the stores or data providers we rely on

Our content

The recipes, photos, text, design, and software on DishBudget belong to us or our licensors, and the law protects them. You may use DishBudget for your own personal, non-commercial cooking and shopping. That includes printing recipes and shopping lists for yourself. Any other use needs our written permission. Product names, images, and prices come from Kroger and its suppliers and remain their property.

Other websites

DishBudget links to store websites and other third-party sites. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content, products, prices, or policies. When you use them, their terms and privacy policies apply.

Changes and ending service

We're constantly improving DishBudget. We may add, change, or remove features, or stop the service entirely, at any time. You can stop using DishBudget whenever you want and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. The sections on content licenses, disclaimers, limits of liability, and disputes still apply after an account is closed.

Disclaimers

DishBudget is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied. This includes warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, and warranties that prices, stock, product matches, or recipes are accurate, complete, or current, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, DishBudget and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. We are also not liable for any loss of money, data, or goodwill arising from your use of the service. This includes differences between estimated and actual prices and any problem with food you buy or prepare. Our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to $50.

Some places don't allow some of these limits. Where that's the case, they apply only as far as the law allows.

Indemnity

If someone brings a claim against us because of content you posted or because you broke these terms, you agree to cover the reasonable costs, including legal fees, to the extent the law allows.

Governing law

The laws of the State of [State], USA, govern these terms, not including its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in [State], and you and we both agree to those courts' jurisdiction. Nothing here takes away any rights you have under the consumer protection laws where you live.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If we do, we will change the effective date above. If the changes are significant, we will tell you on the site or by email before they take effect. If you keep using DishBudget after the changes take effect, you accept the updated terms.
